Titles and descriptions are your ad in the search results, and they’re usually written last. This skill gives you three angles to pick from, with lengths checked, for one page or a few hundred.
What it does
Three title options per page, each with a different angle
Two meta descriptions with the keyword used naturally
Character counts, with anything likely to be cut off flagged
Works through a CSV export and returns new columns
Try asking
“Write titles and descriptions for this page. Keyword: “free robots.txt tester”.”
“Here’s a CSV of 120 pages with low click-through. Rewrite the titles and descriptions.”
Install it
Download the ZIP above.
Claude.ai: open Settings, go to Capabilities and upload it under Skills.
Claude Code: unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ (all projects) or .claude/skills/ (one project).
The full instructions are below. It’s one Markdown file, so change anything you like.

# Title and meta description writer
Write snippets that fit, match the search, and give a reason to click.
## Inputs
- The page (URL, content or a summary) and its **main keyword**
- Optional: current title and description, brand name, the competitors' titles for the keyword
- For many pages: a CSV with URL, current title, current description and keyword
## Limits
- **Title:** about 580px wide on desktop. As a rule of thumb, 50–60 characters. Front-load the keyword.
- **Description:** about 920px on desktop, roughly 140–155 characters. Google may rewrite it, so make it accurate first.
## Steps
1. Work out the intent behind the keyword and what the page offers that the results don't.
2. Write three title options, each with a different angle: plain and specific, benefit-led, and one with a number or a qualifier (free, 2026, template, for X).
3. Write two descriptions that say what's on the page and why it's worth the click. Include the keyword naturally; Google bolds it.
4. Give the character count for each option and flag anything likely to be cut off.
## Output format
For one page:
```
Titles
1. … (54 chars)
2. …
3. …
Descriptions
1. … (148 chars)
2. …
Pick: <which and why, in one line>
```
For a CSV, return the same columns plus `new_title`, `new_description` and `chars`.
## Rules
- No clickbait the page can't back up. Google rewrites mismatched titles anyway.
- Brand at the end, after a separator, only if there's room.
- No keyword stuffing, no ALL CAPS, no emoji unless the brand already uses them.
