then ask each assistant and paste the answers back

More shortlists now get built inside an AI assistant than on page one of Google. If your product never comes up when a buyer asks “what’s the best tool for…”, you’re not in the comparison. This tool shows you where you stand, without a monthly subscription.

    How to use it

    1. Add your brand (plus any other spellings), your main competitors, what you sell and who it’s for.
    2. Click Write my prompts. You get ten or so prompts written the way buyers ask.
    3. For each prompt, click Ask ChatGPT, Ask Perplexity, Ask Claude or Ask Google AI Mode. The prompt opens in that assistant.
    4. Paste the answer back under the prompt. The score updates as you go.

    What the numbers mean

    • Mentioned in: how many answers name the brand at all.
    • Share of answers: the same thing as a percentage, which is the number to track month to month.
    • Named first: how often the brand is the first one mentioned. Assistants tend to list their favourite first.

    Tips

    • Use a logged-out or fresh chat where you can. Your history nudges the answers.
    • Check one assistant at a time. They disagree with each other more than you’d think.
    • Re-run the same prompts monthly. The tool remembers them in this browser.

    Questions

Why do I have to paste the answers myself?

Asking the assistants automatically needs API keys and a server, and the answers would differ from what a real buyer sees in the app. Opening the prompt in your own account and pasting the answer back takes a minute and shows you the real thing.

Will I get the same answer as my customers?

Roughly. Answers vary between runs, accounts and locations. That's why the tool saves your prompts. Run the same set every month and watch the trend, not any single answer.

    Where is my data stored?

In your browser only (local storage), so it's there when you come back on the same device. Nothing is sent to us. Use the CSV download to keep a copy.

My brand never shows up. What now?

Look at who does get mentioned and which sources the assistants cite. They lean on comparison pages, review sites and roundups, so that's usually where the work is. The guide on getting cited by ChatGPT walks through it.
